‘The perfect school’: Primary rated ‘outstanding’ by Ofsted with no areas to improve

Hallsville Primary School was visited in January and the inspection report has now been published.

Inspectors rated the school ‘outstanding’ in all areas: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, leadership and management and early years provision.

In the report, they described the school as having “a culture of high expectations and perseverance”.

They described pupils as “happy” and flourishing socially, academically and emotionally due to “the excellent standard of education and support they receive”.

Behaviour was praised as “bullying is not tolerated, and staff deal with any incidents swiftly”.

Inspectors cited an extensive range of trips and experiences for pupils and the high profile of music, art and sports.

According to Ofsted inspectors, school leaders have created a curriculum that “has pupils’ needs at its heart”.

Quality of work is consistently high, the report said, and the curriculum has a logical sequence to how pupils learn key concepts, knowledge and skills.

The report also states that pupils with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) receive “highly effective support”.

Trust leader Keri Edge said: “To not recommend any areas of improvement is incredibly rare. It is the perfect school.

“We are very pleased that the inspectors have recognised the tremendous effort that has gone into creating an environment where students of all backgrounds can thrive.

“We take an innovative and child-centred approach to everything we do, we are always striving to do better, to be better.

“It’s nice to gain plaudits but the real joy is just being part of a great community and making a difference every day.”
