The new rules in place at Disneyland Paris from today that make a big difference

FAMILIES heading to Disneyland Paris can now visit the theme park with much fewer restrictions from today.

This is because France has scrapped their strict Covid pass rules which were required from Brits travelling to the attraction.

Also called the pass vaccinal, Brits either needed to be fully vaccinated, show proof of recovery from Covid within the last six months or proof of medical exemption from vaccination.

Any travellers who did not fall into those categories were banned from entering venues that required the pass.

But, from today, the pass has been scrapped for restaurants, cafes and attractions – and this includes for entering Disneyland Paris.

The Disneyland Paris website states: “In line with the latest French government guidance, as of Monday, March 14, Vaccine Pass and Health Pass will not be required anymore to access Disneyland Paris.”

This is great news for families, as teenagers previously also needed the pass.

From today, the pass is no longer needed for anyone over the age of 12 – kids under this age remain unaffected by the new rules.

Last month, the theme park also scrapped the face mask rules, with guests no longer needing them indoors or outdoors.

They are still required on Disney transportation such as the monorail or on buses, and must be worn by anyone aged two and over.

Disneyland Paris guests can also finally hug their favourite characters again after two years of social distancing at the theme park.

Guests are once again able to hug, high five and pose with beloved characters now Covid restrictions have been relaxed.

As well as hugs, characters are back signing autographs, so children can fill a book with souvenir signatures from their favourite characters.

The changes came just in time for the theme park to begin its 30th birthday celebrations, which kicked off at the weekend.

A new daytime show is taking place daily in front of the newly refurbished Sleeping Beauty Castle which features more than 30 Disney characters and dancers on colourful floats.

You can head to Disneyland Paris for its 30th anniversary with two-night summer deals from £179pp.
