The Masked Singer UK has quickly become one of the most popular shows on ITV, but how can you get tickets to be in the audience?

Now in its third season, The Masked Singer sees panellists Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Mo Gilligan and Rita Ora get into super-sleuthing mode as they try to guess stars singing behind weird and wonderful costumes.

So far, fans have seen names such as Heather Small, Will Young and Gloria Hunniford unmasked, with last Saturday’s edition seeing tennis star Pat Cash the latest to have to be unmasked.

The show also relies on some audience participation, with those watching the action unfold in person getting to vote for who they want to see go through into the next round.

Here’s everything you need to know about how you can get to sit in the audience yourself and work out exactly who’s behind the mask.

Is The Masked Singer filmed live in front of an audience?

The Masked Singer is filmed at Bovingdon Studios, which is the same location Dancing On Ice – which began its latest series last weekend –  takes place.

The audience was limited in the second season of the show due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, but they have upped the crowd numbers in season three.

Host Joel Dommett said that the inclusion of a live audience has a ‘big impact’.

He told the Radio Times: ‘It makes such an impact on the show. We had so much fun and just seeing people there who are full families, like kids and grannies and parents.

‘It was honestly such a blast to film. We had such a fun time.’

In order to keep the identity of contestants a secret, not all audience members get to see the ‘unmasking’ at the recording.

‘Only six producers who know who everybody is,’ Joel shared on Sunday Brunch. ‘We have absolutely no idea. We record the whole show and they go to take off the mask and we then get rid of the audience so they can then keep it a secret.’

He continued: ‘We get rid of the audience and then they take it off and we reveal who it is. They’re very angry about that.

How to get The Masked Singer tickets

The show is not currently recording, but you are able to register your interest for any upcoming future seasons on the Lost In TV website.

Generally, filming for The Masked Singer takes place in the latter part of the year, with previous shows having been filmed in September and November.

So fans will have to keep an eye out for tickets that they are able to apply for when they’re released, which are also free to pick up.

For the recording of the 2022 season, the minimum age limit to attend was eight, and those aged eight to 15 must be accompanied by an adult over 18 years.

The nearest station to the venue is Hemel Hempstead, which can easily be travelled to from London.

The Masked Singer continues tonight at 7pm on ITV.
