The Little Mermaid’s director Rob Marshall wants to work with the ‘incredible’ Ram Charan and Jr NTR

The Little Mermaid live-action adaptation is all set to hit the theatres on May 26. The film stars Halle Bailey as Ariel who longs to find out more about the world beyond the sea and, while visiting the surface, falls for the handsome Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King). The film is helmed by Rob Marshall who recently expressed his desire to work with Ram Charan and Jr NTR.

In an interview with a leading news organisation, when Rob was asked about his interest in working with Indian actors, he instantly replied ‘Naatu Naatu Actors’ hinting at Ram Charan and Jr NTR. He further added that the two actors are amazing and fantastic. He also was particularly impressed by their physicality and commended their performances in RRR and their extraordinary dancing skills.

Since the release of their SS Rajamouli directed blockbuster RRR, Ram Charan and Jr. NTR’s popularity has surged. The film garnered attention from all over the world and even received appreciation from renowned filmmaker Steven Spielberg. The film’s influence and the skills of its principal performers were amplified when its song Naatu Naatu won the Oscar for Best Original Song.

The Little Mermaid also stars Melissa McCarthy as Ursula, Javier Bardem as King Triton, Daveed Diggs as the voice of Sebastian, Awkwafina as the voice of Scuttle, Jacob Tremblay as the voice of Flounder, Noma Dumezweni as Queen Selina and Art Malik as Sir Grimsby.

The Little Mermaid is scheduled to premiere at cinemas worldwide on May 26.
