The Lewisham nursery where ‘children thrive with exemplary behaviour’

Little Pumpkins Nursery Ltd was most recently inspected on April 5, 2023, and was rated as “outstanding” – an upgrade from its prior rating of “good”.

Ofsted found it to be outstanding in every area: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development and leadership and management.

Inspectors found that children “thrive” at Little Pumpkins Nursery and that their behaviour is “exemplary”.

Ofsted described the provider as “dedicated and passionate about providing high quality provision where all children thrive.”

Staff at the nursery told Ofsted that they feel “exceptionally well supported” at work.

Inspectors were impressed that Little Pumpkins Nursery showed a “strong commitment” to making sure that staff gain the qualifications and skills they need to fulfil their roles and continue to improve.

This shows in the “consistently high quality of teaching” at the nursery, Ofsted reported.

Inspectors saw older children using their imagination when they made ‘potions’ out of mud, water and leaves, confidently expressing their thoughts and feelings about what they made.

Ofsted reported that children are given nutritious meals at lunches and staff engage with children in meaningful conversations with the kids about healthy eating.

Nursery manager, Lauren Fitzgerald, was thrilled with the report.

She said: “Recently, we achieved an Outstanding rating in an Ofsted inspection at our branch in Lee, 88 Woodyates road SE12, acknowledging the Manager Lauren Fitzgerald and our staff’s exemplary work.

“The report commended our School’s leadership, noting how the Provider is dedicated to providing high-quality care and Education that promotes Children’s optimal development.

“Parents who were interviewed as part of the inspection process also had overwhelmingly positive feedback, praising our Staff’s high levels of communication, advice, and support.
“We are proud of the Ofsted report’s validation of our Nursery’s hard work and dedication to providing our children with the best possible education.
