The Lenovo Memorial Day Sale Kicks Off Now: Legion RTX 3070 Ti Gaming Laptop for Under $1200, Gaming PCs, and More

Memorial Day lands on May 29, but Lenovo is kicking off its Lenovo Memorial Day Sale early with some excellent deals on gaming laptops and desktop PCs. Lenovo Legion gaming computers are well liked among gamers and reviewers. The build quality on a Legion laptop or desktop is generally higher quality than what you’d find from most other prebuilt PCs. People like the fact that Lenovo does not use proprietary components in their rigs, so they’re much easier to upgrade with easiy obtainable, off-the-shelf components compared to some other popular prebuilt PC brands. Lenovo gaming rigs generally also utilize solid cooling, especially for the CPU, even if you opt for the base models. The very highest end configs are even equipped with huge all-in-one liquid cooling loops that rival enthusiast builds.

Lenovo Legion RTX 3070 Ti Gaming Laptops from $1165

Lenovo is offering your choice of two Lenovo Legion 5 Gen 7 gaming laptops equipped with the GeForce RTX 3070 Ti GPU for under $1300 thanks to a 5% off coupon code “EXTRA5” that works on both models. The only difference between the two is in storage capacity (512GB vs 1TB). The AMD Ryzen 7 6800H is an excellent gaming and workstation chip. It’s a small improvement over the previous generation 5000 series processors and certainly won’t bottleneck your GPU in 1080p gaming. The GeForce RTX 3070 Ti is a powerful mobile GPU that will easily run any games at high to max settings on the native 1080p display. It’s actually more powerful than the RTX 4060 and only a little bit less powerful than the RTX 4070, which means it’s still a very relevant gaming card.

Lenovo Legion Pro 7i Gen 8 4090 Gaming PC for Under $3K

This is the first time we’ve seen a Lenovo Legion laptop with an RTX 4090 GPU for under $3K. In fact, if you shop around, you’ll hardly find any RTX 4090 gaming laptop sell for under $3500, let alone under $3K. This is an even better deal when you consider the fact that it’s also equipped with the newest 13th gen Intel Core i9-13900HX Raptor Lake CPU, the fastest mobile processor available from Intel, and a higher resolution 17″ 2560×1600 QHD+ display.

Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 16″ Ryzen RTX 4070 Laptop for $1520

This is one of the first gaming laptops we’ve seen equipped with the new AMD Ryzen 7 7000 series CPU. The AMD Ryzen 7 7745HX is a very promising chip; early benchmarks suggest that it’s as powerful as Intel’s best 13th gen Intel Core i9 processor while consuming less power. The RTX 4070 mobile GPU performs roughly 20%-30% faster than the RTX 3070 that is replaces. That means its also a little bit faster than the RTX 3070 Ti. You’ll need this kind of power to run games on the laptop’s QHD+ display with settings turned up. RTX 40 series cards also support DLSS 3.0, which is essentially DLSS 2.0 plus frame generation. For games that support it (like Hogwarts Legacy) this is a big FPS increase over even DLSS 2.0.

Lenovo Legion Pro 5 Gen 8 16″ Ryzen RTX 4060 Laptop for $1230

The RTX 4060 mobile GPU sits right in between the RTX 3070 and RTX 3070 Ti.

Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 8 RTX 4090 Gaming PC for $3199

360mm All-in-One CPU Liquid Cooling

This particular config features a 13th gen Intel Core i9-13900KF Raptor Lake CPU and GeForce RTX 4090 GPU, 32GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and 1TB SSD. The CPU is cooled by a massive 360W all-in-one liquid cooler along with three 120mm ARGB fans for airflow.

The RTX 4090 is far and away the most powerful video card you can get right now. No other GPU, either from NVIDIA or from AMD, comes close. As a reference, the RTX 4090 is about 110% faster at 4K gaming than the already impressive RTX 3080. It’s about 60% faster than the previous king, the RTX 3090 Ti. Check out our RTX 4090 FE review for more details.

Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 8 RTX 4080 PC for $2460

This particular config features a 13th gen Intel Core i7-13700KF Raptor Lake CPU, and GeForce RTX 4080 GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB SSD. The CPU is cooled by a 120mm heatsink/fan combo aong with a whopping six 120mm ARGB fans for airflow.

The RTX 4080 is the second most powerful card on the market. On the AMD front, only the Radeon RX 7900 XTX can keep up (and that’s if you ignore DLSS and ray tracing). It’s much more powerful than previous generation cards, performing about 50% faster than an RTX 3080 Ti. It’s actually only 20%-30% slower than the RTX 4090 (and you’ll really only feel the difference in 4k) while costing hundreds of dollars less. Check out our RTX 4080 review.

Lenovo Legion 7i Gen 8 RTX 4070 Ti PC for $2060

This particular config features a 13th gen Intel Core i7-13700KF Raptor Lake CPU, and GeForce RTX 4070 Ti GPU, 16GB of DDR5-5600MHz RAM, and a 1TB SSD.

The RTX 4070 Ti performs better than the RTX 3090. Compared to AMD’s best card, the Radeon RX 7900 XTX, it only performs slighly worse without ray tracing, but it performs better with ray tracing enabled. It’s still a solid card for 4K gaming and significantly cheaper than the RTX 4080 or 4090.
