The Hot List: Fundraising fashion and beauty buys for International Women’s Day
In honour of International Women’s Day (8 March), this week’s Hot List is all about giving back.
Some of our favourite fashion and beauty brands have risen to the occasion, donating proceeds from iconic products to deserving charities like Women’s Aid, the Malala Fund and Women For Women International.
And for you it’s easy – all you have to do to show your support is treat yourself (or one of the important women in your life) to a little gift.
Here are some of fundraising products to choose from.
Edge of Ember Fearless Necklace
I love Edge Of Ember jewellery and this special piece is no exception. Gold-plated and crafted from 100% recycled silver, the green enamel disc is emblazoned with the word ‘fearless’.
On sale from March 8, an impressive £25 from each necklace will be donated to the Malala Fund, which works to support educators and girls in secondary education around the world.

L’Occitane has a long and admirable history of empowering women — to date more than 42,000 women have been supported by The L’Occitane Foundation — and until March 27 the brand will give £2 from every sale of Give Back Hand Cream Trio to Women’s Aid.
Aviela Pure Shea Butter
Female-founded brand Aviela uses ethically sourced 100% pure unrefined Shea Butter from a cooperative in the village of Gurugu in northern Ghana, supporting 25 women.
Suitable for use from hair to toe, this butter is rich in fatty acids, vitamins A and E and gives intense hydration.
Lotus Flower x The Darling Beast prints
The Lotus Flower is a non-profit organisation supporting women and girls impacted by conflict and displacement.
This IWD, it has teamed up with artist The Darling Beast to create a digital, downloadable print.
Each purchase will fund three months of literacy classes for a female conflict survivor at one of the organisation’s four centres in refugee camps in Kurdistan.
Each £20 donation to the Lotus Flower buys a digital download.
Flo period products
Fantastic (and female-founded) eco-friendly period care company Flo believes in celebrating women every day, which is why it donates 5% of all of its profits to charities supporting women.
These include Bloody Good Period, which works to end period poverty, and The Orchid Project, which works to end FGM.
Hush ‘Together’ T-shirt
Diarise March 8, as Hush’s ‘Together’ T-shirt is available to buy. All proceeds from sales will be donated to Women For Women International, supporting its ongoing initiative to help female survivors of war rebuild their lives through their Stronger Women, Stronger Nations programme, which feels more pressing now than ever.
Neal’s Yard Wild Rose Beauty Balms
Neal’s Yard is donating £1 to Women For Women International for each one of its divine Wild Rose Beauty Balms it sells throughout March.
Neal’s Yard is supporting the charity’s #PowerToChange movement, which helps over half a million women affected by conflict to drive meaningful change in their communities.
