The Games hosts Holly Willoughby and Freddie Flintoff end show with a splash
Holly Willoughby and Freddie Flintoff left viewers stunned on Tuesday’s episode of The Games as they dove into the pool fully clothed.
Tuesday’s episode of the series saw the 12 celebrity contestants take part in a series of aquatic events to help secure their place on the leaderboard, in the hopes of bagging a gold, silver or bronze medal at the end of the week.
A synchronised diving event also raised eyebrows as Ryan Thomas ended up with a wardrobe malfunction and mooned the cameras by accident as his Speedos were forced down by the impact of the water.
Olivia Attwood had also overcome injury to triumph in the women’s breaststroke event, and the contestants also took on a canoeing challenge.
The end of the show was no less dramatic as Holly, 41, and Freddie, 44, decided they weren’t going to let the celebrity stars have all the fun.
Closing the show, Holly began to take her high-heeled shoes off as she told Freddie: ‘Do you know what, it’s absolutely boiling in here and I’ve been waiting to do this all night.’
Grabbing Freddie by the hand after they both took out their earpieces, Holly asked him: ‘Shall we? You coming in?’, before the pair both launched themselves into the water as their guests screamed in surprise.
Viewers were just as stunned that Holly and Freddie had really decided to dive in fully-clothed, tweeting: ‘No way did @hollywills just do that!? Good on her!’
The Games continues on Wednesday from 9pm on ITV.
