The Flash’s Rogues Pull Their Last, Adults-Only Heist in DC’s Upcoming Releases

Rogues #1 returns writer Joshua Williamson to the world of the Flash with a villain-centric story, while Detective Comics’ 12-part event finally ends.

The Flash’s greatest villains pull their final heist in the upcoming releases from DC Comics.

Back when writer Joshua Williamson was penning The Flash, there was one story arc that never came to fruition — until now. Now reimagined for a DC Black Label miniseries, Rogues will explore the team and its leader, Captain Cold, seeking out one last hurrah after being disbanded for 10 years. However, the team will not be going up against the scarlet speedster this time, but trying to rob villain Gorilla Grodd in his own home, Gorilla City. While Rogues debuts, another DC event comes to an end.

Next week, readers can pick up the conclusion to Detective Comics‘ “Shadows of the Bat” event. The story arc has focused on a Batman-less Bat Family and Gotham City’s replacement for Arkham Asylum, Arkham Tower, releasing new issues consecutively each week for the entire 12-part event. On Tuesday, the event and the “House of Gotham” backup story finish, though there is more in store for the Bat Family and DC Universe.

Damian Wayne finally returns to Gotham City in Robin #12, while Respawn — whose identity and relation to Deathstroke was teased in Robin #11 — joins Deathstroke Inc. #7 alongside Slade Wilson’s daughter, Rose aka Ravager. Meanwhile, the penultimate issues for Aquaman/Green Arrow: Deep Target and the War for Earth-3 event are out as well, along with Wonder Girl‘s return in Trial of the Amazons. The full list of releases can be found alphabetically below, covers and solicitations included.

  • It’s a whole new year of me, Harley Quinn! I’ve learned the ins and outs of Gotham’s lovely sewage system, and I’ve even made some unexpected friends along the way. Other than that…totally fine. Year two starts here with a new arc…brand new characters…and some all-too-familiar faces from my past who maybe aren’t so happy to see me.
