The Cabins on ITV: Cast, 2022 release date, and new twist explained
The Cabins is back and better than ever with new contestants and an exciting twist.
This is the show’s second series after its launch in 2021 became ITV Hub’s most popular entertainment show.
The dating show is based on an original Dutch format, Let Love Rule, and sees a cast of singletons ditch the dating rule book and delete their dating apps in an attempt to find true love face-to-face.
Narrated by comedian Maisie Adam, this year sees three brand spanking new Cabins in Wales for the lovelorn pairings to check into.
In the stunning, intimate surroundings, they then have 24 hours to decide whether they would like to spend more time together – or call it a day and walk away.
So, when can we expect The Cabins back on our screens, and what’s all this about a twist?
When is The Cabins back on ITV?
The Cabins will be bringing the romance to 2022 sooner than you think – as series 2 starts next week.
The dating show returns to ITV2 from January 3 after being renewed for a second series back in April.
It promises to brighten up our dreary January evenings with first ever blind dates, awkward silences, cooking disasters, karaoke and heartfelt confessions.
The first series saw love blossom between Charlotte and Sarah, the first couple to stay for four days and leave as an official ‘Cabins couple.’
Elsewhere, hot tubs and body painting, axe throwing and tandem bike rides had varied romantic results, but will Cupid’s arrow strike right this year as the new singletons embark on their own dating adventures?
Who will be in The Cabins cast for series 2?
16 singletons are looking for love in the new series of The Cabins, and the cast includes everyone from a make-up artist to a nursing assistant, and from an estate agent to an athlete.
Amongst the new hopefuls is 18-year-old junior hairdresser Amy from Scotland, who describes herself as ‘very picky’ as she’s on the hunt for someone funny, spontaneous, tall and tanned.
Elsewhere, car salesman Jad, 26, says he’s ‘throwing himself into the deep end’ to find someone he can have good banter with after not really dating at all before.
There’s also Cory, 28, who works in kids activities in a leisure centre.
He says he’s ‘had enough of the social media aspect of trying to find love’ and now he’s after someone who can ‘mirror’ him and who understands him.
The cast are sure to bring memorable moments, hilarity and drama as they embark on their quest for true love.
What’s the twist in The Cabins series 2?
In a new twist for series two, the three Cabins are nestled closely together, so the couples will also get a chance to gossip and debrief with their neighbours next door.
This promises viewers more insight than ever into how they really feel about their match and whether it’s all going quite to plan.
Plus, with brand new private areas for dates, there’s plenty for the couples to explore together.
And as if that wasn’t enough, series two sees an additional surprise for those checking into the Cabins – as a friend or loved one could possibly drop by to see how a date is going.
With an outside opinion added into the mix, will the couples thrive or nosedive?
Where is The Cabins filmed?
The first series was filmed in Hidden River Cabins in Cumbria, right by the Lake District.
This year’s singletons, however, will be checking into three brand new Cabins in Wales.
The Cabins’ wonderful monikers get a second outing, with the return of Otter’s Pocket, Beaver’s Burrow and Stag’s Mount, with each Cabin decorated to reflect its unique name.
Tune into The Cabins on ITV on January 3.
