The Boys Spinoff Series Greenlit by Amazon

The Boys spinoff series has been in development since last year. According to a press release, Amazon has finally greenlit the upcoming series.

The untitled Boys spinoff will tell the story of “America’s only college exclusively for young-adult superheroes (run by Vought International).” The series will explore the lives of competitive and hormonal Supes as “they put their physical, sexual, and moral boundaries to the test.” The cast of the Boys spinoff series includes Lizze Broadway, Jaz Sinclair, Aimee Carrero, Shane Pau McGhie, Maddie Phillips, and Reina Hardesty. Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas will serve as showrunners on the series and members from the Boys creative team such as Eric Kripke and Seth Rogers will be executive producers.

Kripke expressed his excitement for the Boys spinoff series by saying, “Much like Mork & Mindy spun-off from Happy Days–which is an insane and true fact–our spinoff will exist in the Vought Cinematic Universe, yet have a tone and style all its own. It’s our take on a college show, with an ensemble of fascinating, complicated, and sometimes deadly Young Supes. Michele and Tara are stone-cold geniuses, we’re thrilled to have them steer this ship, and grateful to Sony and Amazon for the opportunity. We love this show and can’t wait for you to see it. Also, Baywatch Nights spun-off from Baywatch, and it had vampires. Vampires!”

Premiere date for the Boys spinoff series isn’t announced yet. The Boys season 3 has recently wrapped up filming and a release date announcement is expected to come soon.
