The Best Guardians of the Galaxy Cameos Who May Still Appear in the MCU
The video game Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is bursting with content for fans of the merry galaxy-traveling band of miscreants. Featuring the titular team front and center, the game focuses on Star-Lord, Drax, Gamora, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot as they fight to save the galaxy from a nefarious and deadly enemy. But the MCU stars are not the only cosmic characters to appear in the game as a plethora of cameos are sprinkled throughout the adventure.
It is possible for players to find the other character cameos inside the Nova Corps spaceship, Hala’s Hope, located within the ship’s data logs. There are a great number of dossier’s to read through as the Corps is flawless in its logging of any and all entities they come across throughout the galaxy. Among the files is detailed information on a number of high-profile cosmic Marvel heroes, teasing their potential arrival in the MCU.
Nova, the Human Rocket
Richard Rider, a young boy from Hempstead, New York was chosen by the dying Nova Corps Centurion Rhomann Dey to inherit his powers and succeed him as member of the Nova Corps. Richard then became the superhero Nova and enjoyed an affiliation with the New Warriors as well as a complicated relationship with the Nova Corps.
After absorbing the full power of the Xandarian Worldmind after the devastating Annihilation event, Nova became the most powerful Nova Centurion in history and one of the most powerful heroes in the universe.
Moondragon, the Telepathic Daughter Of Drax The Destroyer
Heather Douglas and her family were unfortunate enough to stumble across Thanos’s path when he arrived on Earth. Thanos killed the majority of Heather’s family, but was unaware that she survived. Mentor, Thano’s father, rescued Heather and brought her to Titan where she was trained to master both her body and mind.
Moondragon’s potent psionic powers attracted an evil entity known as The Dragon of the Moon that tried to corrupt her, although the effort was unsuccessful. Heather then adopted the name Moondragon, oblivious to the fact that the Dragon of the Moon was still controlling her deep inside. She has since been a member of both the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Quasar, the Quantum Band Wearing Protector Of The Universe
Wendell Vaughn was a young man born in Fond du Lac, Wisconsin who became a member of S.H.I.E.L.D. When A.I.M. attacked a secret project that was investigating the mysterious artifacts known as the Quantum Bands, Wendell put them on in an effort to keep them safe and became imbued with their power becoming the superhero known as Quasar.
Wendell would later be appointed the title of Protector of the Universe by the cosmic entity Eon, thus becoming one of the most powerful heroes in the universe. Like Moondragon, Quasar has served as both a member of the Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy.
Darkhawk, the Mysterious Hero and Unwilling Cosmic Assassin
Christopher Powell was born in Queens, New York and stumbled across a powerful amulet that allowed him to transform into the mighty warrior, Darkhawk. Chris became affiliated with both the New Warriors and West Coast Avengers during his tenure as a Earth hero before taking to space.
Chris would later learn that his amulet was created by the evil Fraternity of Raptors. The evil Raptor known as Razor took control of Chris’s body and assassinated Lilandra of the Shi’ar Empire.
Jack Flag, the Hero Inspired By Captain America
Jack Harrison was so inspired by Captain America that he trained in weight lifting and martial arts to better fight crime. A battle with Mr. Hyde left Jack doused in the volatile Hyde Formula, granting Jack with a massive boost of superhuman physical power.
Jack was imprisoned in the Negative Zone during the Civil War event and escaped with the help of the Guardians of the Galaxy, later becoming a member of the cosmic superhero team.
Wraith, the Dark and Tragic Hero
The Kree child Zak-Del was unfortunate enough to have been sucked into a wormhole as he was fleeing Kree death squads, emerging into a space known as the Exoteric Latitude or “the space of the Nameless.” Infected by parasites known as the Exolon, Zak-Del was gifted with enhanced physical powers, regeneration, immortality, and the ability to summon the creatures themselves in exchange for them absorbing his soul.
Wraith left the Exoteric Latitude and became involved with many different cosmic conflicts, including the Annihilation: Conquest event.
Glah-Ree, the Kree Captain
The Kree warrior known as Captain Glory, or Glah-Ree in his native tongue, was captured by the Grandmaster and subjected to battle inside his Cosmic Game Room. Joining a force known as the Lethal Legion, Glah-Ree was forced to battle against the Black Order. He has since come into conflict with the Avengers on multiple occasions and seemed to have met his fate at the hands of Dormammu’s Mindless Ones during the recent “Last Annihilation” event.
The inclusion of characters such as Mantis, Cosmo, Ego, and Ronan the Accuser in previous Guardians of the Galaxy films provides a strong foundation for the possibility of the characters included in the video game to make their MCU debut’s in future projects. With the infinite scope of the Marvel Universe, there are quite a few ways for these characters to be introduced into the MCU.
