May is a great month for long weekends, with not one, not two, but three bank holiday Mondays thoughout the month (thanks, King Charles III).

The first of these, Early May bank holiday, is coming up in just a week’s time (May 1) and with the weather expected to be warm and sunny you may want to pop down to your local Tesco to grab some bits for a BBQ or a picnic in the park.

However, as always, supermarket opening hours differ on bank holidays to allow staff some well deserved time off.

Here’s when Tesco is open over the Early May bank holiday weekend.

What time does Tesco open over the bank holiday weekend?

All Tesco stores will open with normal trading hours on Saturday, April 29 and Sunday, April 30.

On Monday, May 1, Tesco opening hours will vary depending on location and store type.

Many large stores (Tesco Extra and Tesco Superstore) will be operating with reduced hours, with the majority open from 8am to 6pm.

All Tesco Express stores will be open as usual.

As opening hours vary from store to store, it is best to check your local store’s opening times via the Tesco store locator.

This is also the best place to check for Petrol Filling Station opening times as these can vary from main store opening times.

Tesco stores will also have reduced opening hours on the two other May bank holidays (May 8 and May 29).
