A number of items have seen their prices slashed at Tesco.

The supermarket giant has cut the prices of 30 of its own brand cupboard essentials across larger stores and online, helping shoppers save.

It follows a number of retailers cutting the price of some bread and butter products last week in response to falling commodity prices.

Sainsbury’s and Tesco recently cut the price of milk by 5p, with Aldi, Lidl, and Asda following suit.

They say ‘every little helps’ – and with the rising cost of living, these savings couldn’t be more welcome.

But which products are on offer? Here’s what you need to know.

The price cuts were announced by Tesco as Downing Street hosted a Farm to Form Summit that brought together farmers’ representatives and supermarket heads.

It saw people from the food and retail trade talk about the government’s goal of boosting cooperation across the supply chain and tackling food inflation.

‘As we see deflation coming through on key cupboard essentials such as pasta and cooking oil, we’re pleased to pass on these savings to customers,’ Tesco group chief product officer Ashwin Prasad told Yahoo.

‘We hope that by reducing prices on these 30 products which are bought week-in, week-out, we can help customers spend less.’
