Tencent Launches New Game Undawn Through Singapore-Based Level Infinite Since Exiting India Three Years Ago

Chinese gaming giant Tencent has once again made a move in India, this time with the launch of a new mobile title.

The game in question is Undawn, where players are thrust into a planet in ruins, requiring them to form squads and protect themselves. Players must survive using weapons, gather resources, and rebuild in this expansive open-world game.

Undawn globally launched on June 15, and India is among several countries where players can try it out. The release of Undawn marks a significant stride forward for Tencent in India.

As highlighted by Anuj Tandon, former Krafton India executive and current CEO of the gaming division of JetSynthesys, Tencent’s comeback signifies a significant milestone.

Several of Tencent’s services, including the social media platform WeChat, were banned by the Indian government alongside other Chinese apps like TikTok. These measures were taken due to safety concerns.

Tencent has released Undawn through its Singapore-based publishing arm, Level Infinite. Tandon confirmed that this is the first time since the ban that Tencent has introduced a new game through a publishing arm.

Undawn is currently available to play on Android and iOS through the Google Play Store and App Store, respectively.
