MANILA, Philippines — They may still be teenagers, but these four young ladies are embarking on a global quest to bring home international recognition for the country so early in their lives.

Meredith Breña Anota is the youngest of the group at 15, but her impressive performance at the Miss Teen Philippines International pageant that landed her at second place prompted the organizers to send her to the Miss Teen Earth pageant in India.

The Grade 9 student at the Pasay City South High School has launched environmental campaigns in her school, and has taken part in clean-up drives. She is also a Sangguniang Kabataan (Youth Council) official in Bicutan.

The tallest of the group is Maria Socorro Aspe who already towers at 5’10” at just the tender age of 16 years old. The statuesque Miss Teen Philippines International fourth runner-up was appointed to represent the country in the Miss Teen Universe pageant in Puerto Rico.

Aspe is a Grade 11 student at the UST Angelicum College in Albay, and dreams of becoming a development pediatrician someday.

Miss Teen Philippines International second runner-up Ancient Trinity Tabora will represent the country in the Miss Teen World pageant in Ecuador. At just 19 years old, she already owns a gown rental business and a samgyeopsal (Korean barbecue) restaurant.

The last of the teen Filipino queens to receive an international assignment is Princess Jasmine Estanislao, an 18-year-old Tourism Management student from the Far Eastern University in Manila. Because of her four-year modeling experience, the organizer assigned her to compete at the Miss Teen Model contest in Peru this June.

The four young lasses officially received their respective national titles at a “sashing and crowning” ceremony held at the Milky Way restaurant in Makati City on March 4. EDV
