Teams: Latrell back to rescue Bunnies’ finals hopes

Latrell Mitchell is set to make his long-awaited returns after injury layoffs, after being named to start this weekend against the Wests Tigers.

Mitchell was expected to return last week from a calf injury, but was a late scratch from the Souths side that was handily beaten by the Broncos.

Souths coach Jason Demetriou confirmed that Mitchell would return in round 22 to play his first match since May 19.

“I know he’s ready to go, it’s just a matter of getting more load into his calf and making sure that as of next week onwards his calf is ready to go,” he said.

Mitchell’s return is a big boost for a Souths side that has slipped out of the top eight in his absence.
