Syria-Turkey Earthquake: Streamers Raise Funds to Help Victims

Popular Twitch and YouTube streamers have come together to raise funds for the humanitarian crisis in Syria and Turkey. The two countries were recently devastated by two powerful earthquakes that resulted in the loss of over 11,000 lives.

In response to the crisis, Twitch and YouTube streamers including Hasanabi, IShowSpeed, Ludwig and more, started a fundraiser to aid the affected communities. The fundraiser is started by Hasanabi and will benefit the AKUT non-profit organisation and Haluk Levent’s organisation Ahbap. So far, the fundraiser has raised nearly $900,000, with many top content creators contributing to the cause.

Jacksepticeye, Ethan Klien, Valkyrae, Ludwig, and iShowSpeed also donated to the cause. Hasanabi donated $25,000, while Klein, Jacksepticeye, and valkyrae donated $10,000 each.

The Valorant Turkey’s Twitter account shared a statement, which according to a translation by a commenter, reads “We are deeply saddened by those who lost their lives in the earthquake, and we hope that all victims of the earthquake will be rescued as soon as possible. We’re sending our deepest condolences to everyone who were affected.”

The Valorant Challengers 2023 Turkey: Birilik event has also been postponed until further notice due to the earthquake.
