Suzume: Makoto Shinkai to Attend Premiere of the Anime Film in Mumbai

Suzume is set to receive a grand premiere of the film in Mumbai, with director Makoto Shinkai in attendance, on April 20.

The premiere will be held in PVR, City Mall, in Andheri, Mumbai. PVR Pictures announced the news today, revealing that ticket information for the premire will be available soon.

Suzume’s premiere will give attendees a chance to participate in a Q&A session with Shinkai. It is being organised by PVR Pictures, Japanese Film Festival India, and The Japan Foundation.

Many fans are asking if Shinkai will also visit cities other than Mumbai. While no plans beyond Mumbai have been announced, the Japan Foundation Twitter account asked a fan to “stay tuned for more updates” when asked if the director is coming to Delhi.

Shinkai announced last week that he will visit India to promote Suzume. According to his Twitter, the director is currently in Thailand.

Suzume is set to release in India on April 21 in Japanese and Hindi. Special fan screenings across some cities in the country were held on April 9. You can check out what IGN had to say about Suzume in its review of the film here.
