Susanna Reid bids farewell to GMB co-star after ‘infuriating and inspiring’ time

Susanna Reid, 52, sweetly shared “we will miss you”, as her colleague Pip Tomson, 45, quit Good Morning Britain after 10 years on the ITV show.

The GMB host paid tribute to the correspondent on Twitter, after Pip summed up her decade on the ITV show as “fun, infuriating, inspiring and unforgettable”.

Susanna wrote: “Good luck Pip – we will miss you but I know you’re going on to great, bright, fabulous adventures.”

It comes after Pip posted a selection of memories to her own Twitter page to commemorate her tenure on the programme.

The gallery of snaps featured a selfie with Hollywood star George Clooney, and a photo of Pip broadcasting from outside Number 10 Downing Street.

She wrote alongside the pictures: “The sun is now setting on my (almost) 10 yrs at Good Morning Britain & ITV.

“Its been both fun, infuriating, inspiring & unforgettable.

“Proud to play a part in such a great show.

“But so excited about what’s coming next @gmb #itv.”

Pip also said an emotional farewell to the show as she joined Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway in the GMB studio.

Kate told her: “Excited for you and your future but you’re going to be a huge loss to us on the team and me personally.

“Excited for your adventures, Thank you for being a lovely part of the team.”

“It’s been an absolute joy what you see at home is really what it’s like, it’s a great family, everybody is just amazing to work with,” Pip responded.

She then became tearful as Ben asked her why she was leaving the programme, before she divulged: “I know, but new adventures await and it’s just time. But, it’s been fabulous so thank you everybody.”

It comes as Phillip Schofield announced his sudden departure from fellow ITV daytime show This Morning over the weekend.

Phillip shared he was “stepping down with immediate effect”, following rumours of a rift between himself and co-host Holly Willoughby.

Kevin Lygo, ITV’s Managing Director, Media and Entertainment said: “Phillip is hands down one of the best broadcasters of his generation and we thank him for his two decades worth of absolutely terrific television on the This Morning sofa.

“This Morning is made by one of the best and most diligent teams in television, who produce over 12 hours of live television each week.

“We look forward to continuing our relationship with Phillip starting with The British Soap Awards in June and a brand new peak time series to come.”
