surface duo 2: Microsoft Surface Duo 2 expected to offer better cameras, bigger battery – Times of India

Microsoft Surface Duo 2, said to be the next foldable phone from Microsoft, has appeared in a Geekbench listing, as per a report by Windows Central. The device is shown to come with the flagship Snapdragon 888 chipset and 8GB RAM. It got 1091 in the single-core test and 3517 in the multi-core test. The Surface Duo 2 was tested with Android 11 on it.
As per an earlier leak, the device is expected to come with a triple rear camera setup of a 12MP primary camera, an ultra-wide lens and a dedicated telephoto lens. As per the report, Microsoft is looking to increase the battery life of the new smartphone and also incorporate bigger displays. Some of the other expected upgrades are higher refresh rates and the lift-to-wake feature.
The Surface Duo was Microsoft’s first Android smartphone which was launched last year at a starting price of $1,399 (about Rs 1,04,656). The dual-screen phone featured two 5.6-inch, 1800 x 1350, 60Hz OLED panels joined by a hinge. These two displays can come together to form a larger display. When open, it features 8.1-inch Dual PixelSense Fusion AMOLED displays with 2700×1800 pixels resolution and 401 PPI.
The phone comes powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor. For imaging duties, the Android phone is equipped with an 11MP Adaptive camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.0 µm, PDAF and 84.0° diagonal FOV optimised with AI for front and rear. It is backed by a 3577mAh dual battery and comes with 18W fast charging support. There are two UFS3.0 storage variants the device was launched in: 128GB and 256GB.
