Supercomputer predicts final Premier League table after Cristiano Ronaldo’s Man Utd start

Manchester United’s chances of winning the Premier League have been affected by Cristiano Ronaldo’s return, a supercomputer has found. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer brought back the Portugal legend to spearhead an exciting attack.

A new supercomputer has revealed Manchester United’s predicted final Premier League table showing how Cristiano Ronaldo could impact on his homecoming.

CIES Football Observatory Weekly uses a model based entirely on statistics to predict how each top league in Europe will conclude.

There are a number of varying factors including player experience, transfer fees invested and the performance of every team over the past 365 days.

The Premier League version of their analysis shows that Manchester City are set to pip their rivals to the title this season.

That would mean that Pep Guardiola’s side are set to scoop a fourth league trophy in five years.

United have finished runners-up on two of those occasions but have not tasted victory in the competition since 2013 in Sir Alex Ferguson’s last year in charge.

The arrival of Ronaldo, though, has already had a major impact on the Premier League.

The Portugal international returned to Old Trafford after 12 years away from the club and he has already made himself known pretty quickly.

The 36-year—old is United’s top scorer with four goals in three games.

But the model has revealed that even Ronaldo cannot get the Red Devils over the line despite many pundits believing he will challenge for the Golden Boot.

United are currently third in the table and have not lost in five games – holding a lead of three points over City.

However, the firepower at Guardiola’s disposal means that even Solskjaer with Ronaldo cannot tip the power balance, the supercomputer has stated.

Making up the rest of the top four are Liverpool and Chelsea respectively while Newcastle, Watford and Norwich look destined for the drop.
