Sue Barker breaks silence on ‘missing’ A Question Of Sport after being dropped
Sue Barker, 67, has exclusively told Express.co.uk that although she has no hard feelings about her departure, she and her fellow panellists, Matt Dawson, 50, and Phil Tufnell, 57, still miss working on A Question Of Sport.
The retired professional tennis player poignantly admitted: “I just loved the show. I just wish I could go back and do it all again.”
Changes made by BBC bosses in 2020 saw the fan favourite trio being axed and replaced, sparking backlash from their loyal viewers.
The sports stars are currently teaming up once again for a live sports quiz show with a twist, on their Extra Time tour.
They first embarked on the tour after being dropped from A Question Of Sport.

When quizzed on whether she and her co-stars miss the show, Sue revealed to Express.co.uk: “Oh gosh yeah, of course we miss it.
“I mean, we loved it, you know, I just loved the show. I just wish I could go back and do it all again.
“It was absolutely great but no problem with leaving the show, you know, that’s fine. The BBC, it’s their show, and, you know, they wanted to take it in another direction, and that’s absolutely fine with us.”
Sue continued: “We had an absolute blast doing it. I think we always felt we’d like to do another tour, but we weren’t sure whether it would be possible.
“So we were thrilled when we were approached to do it, because we just really like working together, the three of us.
“We know each other so well, we know each other’s partners, you know? They feel like family to me, they’re like my brothers.”
Addressing their on-stage reunion, Sue added: “It’s gonna be wonderful to be back out there and we’ll always stay in touch no matter what, we’ll be friends for life.”
After the show’s shake-up was confirmed three years ago, a BBC spokeswoman thanked Sue for her “enormous contribution” as A Question of Sport’s longest-reigning host.
