Classic car auction house RM Sotheby’s have released its selection for the Amelia Island 2023 sale.

And it features prestigious vintage models, including a ‘Disappearing Top’ Duesenberg, a 16-cylinder Cadillac and three rare coach-built Packards.

The collection of ten is largely made up of pre-war classics, with the award-winning 1931 Duesenberg Model J ‘Disappearing Top’ Convertible Coupe by Murphy headlining the private collection, estimated to fetch up to £3.6 million.

Following this is the 1934 Packard Twelve Sport Coupe by LeBaron – one of four built on a shortened 136-inch wheelbase with twelve-cylinder power – which is set to sell for up to £2.4 million.

Next up is the 1930 Cadillac V-16 Roadster by Fleetwood, which was sold three years after its purchase during the Great Depression.

It was carefully preserved by its second owner.

And the car was in a private collection for over 80 years before being sold for a third time in 2014 and it is set to fetch up to £1.2 million.

Another highlight of the sale is the 1930 Packard 745 Deluxe Eight Convertible Victoria by Waterhouse – one of just four surviving of the model and set to sell for £369,000.

Other pre-war offerings from the collection are a 1937 Mercedes-Benz 540 K Cabriolet B by Sindelfingen, a 1929 Bentley Tourer by Cadogan and a 1930 Packard 745 Deluxe Eight Convertible Victoria by Proux.

Three post-war offerings are also included – a 1953 Mercedes-Benz 300 S Roadster, a 1959 Rolls-Royce Silver Cloud I Drophead Coupe by James Young, and a 1962 Ferrari 250 GTE 2+2 Series I by Pininfarina.

The auction, which will be the final Amelia Island sale, is set for 4 March.
