Strictly Come Dancing star Janette Manrara and husband Aljaz Skorjanec reveal they’re leaving their plans to become parents in the hands of ‘the universe’.

The professional dancers tied the knot in 2017 after meeting during live dance show Burn The Floor, seven years earlier.

They’ve gone from strength to strength, with Janette now sharing an insight into their plans to expand their family.

She said: ‘We believe in leaving it up to the universe and taking whatever we’re blessed with.

‘We want to be parents and can’t wait for the day that comes, but we’re not putting pressure on how, when and in what capacity that will be.’

While Aljaz fell head over heels when they first met, for 38-year-old Janette it wasn’t quite love at first sight. She’s admitted she had no interest in falling for anyone at the time as she was focusing on herself and her career.

She revealed to Prima magazine: ‘We met in 2010, I’d just moved to London to do the dance show Burn The Floor and I was rehearsing when Aljaz came in, looking like Prince Charming.

‘Everyone just froze in awe… except for me. I was so focused on travelling the world and living my best life, I wasn’t looking for a boyfriend.’

Aljaz proved that hard work really does pay off though as after months of begging, he finally convinced the professional dancer to take a chance on him.

Not afraid to mix business with pleasure, the talented couple starred alongside each other on Strictly Come Dancing for many years before Janette bowed out.

She hung up her ballroom shoes in 2021 to become a co-host of the spin-off show It Takes Two.
