Abby, who was married to rugby player Ben Cohen before he began a romance with Strictly pro Kristina Rihanoff, has revealed she has cancer.
The mother of Ben’s two children took to Instagram to share her health update, alongside a video from her hospital bed after having a stoma bag fitted.
Abby told her followers that she had booked an appointment with a doctor after having worries about her health.
She wrote: “This was and is the toughest yet. I’m unlucky, but lucky, to have been warned only once with a symptom of this terrible illness.
“With huge thanks to the NHS for saving my life & taking good care of me when I felt so scared & most vulnerable.
“I can’t express enough how lucky I am to have such amazing family & friends that have helped me through this incredibly tough journey.”
Abby added: “Never ignore your body when it’s trying to warn you, I didn’t and it’s given me a chance to live my new life. In time and with the right treatment.
“I’m hoping this will all be a distant memory for me. You never know how strong you are until it’s your only choice.”
Abby concluded her post by adding the hashtag: “#F**kcancer.”
Abby and her ex-husband Ben share twin daughters Harriette and Isabelle, both 15.
The teenagers were both pictured supporting their mum by her bedside at hospital during her cancer treatment.
Ben also shares a younger daughter, Mila, with former Strictly Come Dancing star Kristina, whom they welcomed in 2016.
Abby and Ben confirmed they had split just months after the rugby star competed on Strictly alongside Kristina in 2013.
News of Ben’s relationship with now-fiancée Kristina later emerged in 2014.
After her heartbreaking split from Ben, Abby found love with partner David Warner.
She said while addressing their relationship: “I’m happier in my own skin and I’m not that broken girl who used to be married to a famous rugby player.”
Ben proposed to Kristina in October 2022 during a holiday in the Maldives.
