“Errrm excuse why, why did Alijaz sound like he was leaving #strictly? No, no, no. He is too precious and joyful. No,” commented @carrie_walsh_

Aljaž, who was born in Slovenia, is a 19-time Slovenian champion in Ballroom, Latin and Ten Dance.

He joined Strictly in the 11th series in 2013 and, after being partnered with model Abbey Clancy, Aljaz became the fourth professional to win in his first series.

His celeb partners over the years also include This Morning presenter Alison Hammond, Call the Midwife actress Helen George, model Daisy Lowe and former Hollyoaks and Emmerdale actress Gemma Atkinson.

During Sunday’s dance off (November 14) both couples performed their routines again.

Tilly and her partner Nikita Kuzmin performed their quickstep to I Won’t Dance by Damita Jo.

Then, Sara and Aljaz Škorjanec performed their Argentine Tango to No More Tears (Enough Is Enough) by Donna Summer and Barbara Streisand in a bid to impress the judges and remain in the competition.

All four Strictly judges Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Anton Du Beke, Head Judge, Shirley Ballas chose to save Tilly.

When asked by Tess about their time on the show, Sara said: “I had no idea any of this was in me. It’s been a life changing experience and one I’ve loved every second of.”

And Aljaz said: ‘I feel like from that day we met under the Angel of the North, I was so pleased to dance with you this season. “Honestly, I wouldn’t want to dance with anybody else.
