Sunday’s Strictly Come Dancing results show saw Sara Davies eliminated from the competition and dance partner Aljaž Skorjanec hinted this year’s series may be his last.

Aljaž, who is married to presenter Janette Manrara, has been a fan favourite on the show since 2013.

When chatting to presenter Tess Daly about their journey on the hit BBC dance show, the Dragons Den star praised the 31-year-old Slovenian professional for being an ‘absolute joy.’

However, Aljaž responded saying: ‘You [Sara] have been an absolute joy and a testament to hard work – not just on Strictly but with your business and you’re a beautiful mother.

’I’m going to miss you so much. I’m going to miss dancing with you. I’m going to miss everything about this show.’

Fans quickly jumped to Twitter and expressed how they hoped Aljaž’s speech wasn’t a farewell to the series for good.

One user said: ‘Don’t tell me @AljazSkorjanec is leaving the show? Nope, no, no, no.’

Another said: ‘Please don’t leave, as Brucie said you’re my favourite.’

Aljaz’s wife Janette, left the series last year after reaching the final with singer HRVY.

Fortunately, Janette hasn’t left the Strictly family for good, as she hosts the spin-off show It Takes Two alongside Rylan Clark.

Aljaž previously said that spending time apart was a ‘small sacrifice’ to make for Strictly.

The Strictly admitted he struggled with work burnout earlier in the year.

‘I was really struggling at the end of 2019. So when our tour in 2020 got cancelled I just said, “I’m going to take this opportunity and do nothing.’

He added: ‘So I switched off my phone for a month. I really switched off mentally and physically. The only thing I would do is go for a walk just to get some air.’

‘I think it’s a small sacrifice that most of us pros had to make,’ he insisted. ‘Some have kids they’re not going to see for a while.
