Stout tap takeover, ’80s-themed apres ski party, boutique warehouse sale and more to do in Denver

Grab a stout pour

Saturday. February is known as Stout Month to local beermakers and drinkers. To get the theme rolling, River North Brewery is hosting a Super Stout Tap Takeover when 12 different recipes will be on draft at its Washington Street outpost. That includes Shadowman, a barrel-aged “motor-oil-thick” brew clocking 15% alcohol content, and barrel-aged Double Avarice, a Belgian-style imperial stout. Additionally, River North’s Blake Street location will have a mini stout tap takeover with more limited options.

Doors open at both breweries at 1 p.m. and it’s pay-as-you-go for beers. If you order a stout flight — a good idea considering the elevated ABV on many — you’ll receive a coupon for a free stout that can be redeemed at a later date. Bottles of vintage recipes will be available for purchase to-go, as well.

Belly up to the Super Stout parties on Jan. 29 at 1 p.m. at River North Brewery’s two locations (6021 N. Washington St. and 34000 Blake St.) in Denver. More information at rivernorthbrewery.com. — Tiney Ricciardi

Shop for a cause with local boutiques

Sunday. Thirteen local, female-owned Denver shops are getting together under one roof for their annual Boutique Warehouse Sale. The day of discounts (50-75% off) begins at 9 a.m. for VIP shoppers and goes until 3 p.m., with the last two hours free for shoppers to browse.

VIP attendees can expect to pay $25 for their early access, which includes an hour of pre-sale shopping, plus a free drink and a tote bag. Otherwise, admission from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. costs $15 and includes a complimentary beverage.

Ticket sales from the event benefit the Rocky Mountain Alliance Children’s Foundation, a local nonprofit with a mission to improve the lives and well-being of Denver-area children. This year’s vendors include Lady Jones, Denver Darling, Meraki Moon and more.
