Stocks in the news: Zomato, Tata Steel, Nykaa, ACC, IB Housing and Lupin

Nifty futures on the Singapore Exchange traded 29 points, or 0.17 per cent higher at 17,513, signaling that Dalal Street was headed for a positive start on Thursday. Here are a dozen stocks which may buzz the most in today’s trade:

Hindalco, M&M, Zomato: Hindalco Industries, Mahindra & Mahindra, Zomato, Piramal Enterprises, Hero MotoCorp, ABB India, Page Industries, Hindustan Aeronautics, Trent, IRFC, Bharat Forge, MRF, Cummins India, Dr Lal Pathlabs, GIC of India, Tata Chemicals and Sun TV are among the companies that will announce their December quarter results today.

Tata Steel: The steel major said that its arm has accepted a letter of award (LoA) for the acquisition of a 93.71 per cent stake in Neelachal Ispat Nigam and added that the process for the buyout is likely to be completed in the next couple of months.


FSN E-commerce Ventures:
The operator of Nykaa brand reported about a 57 per cent decline in consolidated profit after tax to Rs 29 crore in the third quarter ended December 31, 2021. The company had registered a PAT of Rs 68.9 crore.

Prestige Estates Projects: The realty firm reported a 59 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 93.3 crore for the quarter ended December. Its net profit stood at Rs 58.7 crore in the year-ago period.

Lupin: The drug firm said it has entered into a distribution pact with Slovenia-based Medis for its orphan drug NaMuscla. As part of the agreement, Medis will commercialise NaMuscla for the symptomatic treatment of myotonia in adults with non-dystrophic myotonic (NDM) disorders in Central and Eastern European countries.

Steel Authority of India: The state run metal player reported a 4.1 per cent rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,528.54 crore for the October-December period of the ongoing fiscal, helped by higher income. The company had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 1,468.20 crore in the year-ago period.

ACC: The Cement maker reported a 40.55 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 280.85 crore for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2021, due to adverse input inflation. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 472.44 crore during the corresponding quarter last year.


Indiabulls Housing Finance Company:
The NBFT profit after tax (PAT) dropped by 8 per cent to Rs 303 crore in the quarter ended in December due to slower loan growth. It reported a PAT of Rs 329 crore in the year-ago period.

Essar Shipping: The logistics company reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 5.59 crore for the quarter ended December 2021. The company had reported a loss of Rs 181.88 crore in the corresponding quarter a year ago.

SKF India: The Swedish auto component maker SKF India has reported a steep 31 per cent year-on-year dip in consolidated net profit to Rs 88.79 crore for the December 2021 quarter, impacted by inflationary pressure and supply chain constraints.

GMR Infrastructure: The airport operator reported narrowing of its consolidated net loss to Rs 515.34 crore for the quarter ended in December 2021 against that of Rs 1,120.51 crore in the year-ago period. The consolidated income from operations in the quarter under review rose to Rs 1,437.84 crore from Rs 963 crore in the same period a year ago.

GE Power India: The construction engineering firm reported a consolidated net loss of Rs 34.12 crore in the December 2021 quarter. The company reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 35.09 crore in the quarter ended on December 31, 2020.


New Delhi Television:
The media firm reported a 31.64 per cent increase in its consolidated net profit to Rs 29.87 crore for the third quarter ended December 2021. The company had posted a net profit of Rs 22.69 crore during the October-December quarter a year-ago.

Tamilnadu Petroproducts: The part of AM International reported standalone profit after tax at Rs 46.95 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2021. The Chennai-based petrochemical manufacturing company saw a standalone profit after tax at Rs 21.87 crore during the corresponding quarter the previous year.

Pricol: The automotive technology company reported a standalone profit after tax at Rs 13.31 crore for the quarter ending December 31, 2021. The Tamil Nadu-based company reported standalone PAT at Rs 19.34 crore during the corresponding quarter previous year.
