Steam Breaks Its Concurrent Players Record Yet Again
Over the past few months, we have heard countless occasions of the Valve-owned Steam breaking its active player base records.
Last week, the popular platform broke its concurrent players record once again, with its current record being created around 7 PM yesterday, according to Steam’s analytics charts. At the time of writing, the chart’s record stands at 31,955,907 players, who were logged on to the platform at the same time.
However, SteamDB, a popular website that tracks the platform’s stats and other elements, mentioned that its current peak is around 31,906,400 players. However, both these figures broke the previous records that Steam held for a brief period.
Steam has been slowly increasing its player base over the last few years, with the platform hitting the 30-million-mark last month.
With the introduction of the Steam Deck by Valve, a ton of new players have joined the fray, with most of them attracted to downloading and playing games on the company’s new portable console.
The platform can also attribute its success to some of the titles it holds in its roster. This includes some of Steam’s most popular titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Dota 2, PUBG, Apex Legends, and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. At the moment, Counter-Strike ranks at the top with today’s peak crossing the million player mark.
With new games such as Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla joining Steam very soon, the platform will surely break the current record once again, and it will be interesting to see when it will reach the 40 million player mark.
