Stacey Solomon and Joe backed to host This Morning as fans ‘enjoy watching them’

Actress Shana Swash, 32, has revealed exclusively to Express.co.uk that she would love to see her sister-in-law Stacey Solomon, 33, and her big brother Joe Swash, 41, stepping into Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield’s shoes.

While discussing her critically acclaimed new film, Love Without Walls, former EastEnders star Shana weighed in on the rumours that Stacey and Joe could be frontrunners to host This Morning, following Phil’s sudden departure from the ITV show.

When quizzed on if she could see the couple fronting the daytime show in the future, Shana told Express.co.uk: “Oh, 100 percent, the pair of them just are like Tweedledee and Tweedledum!

“And everyone seems to enjoy watching them, so why not?” The star added, enthusiastically.

It comes after Stacey hinted at a new career project directly after Phil left the show.

The star spilled to her Instagram followers that she had just been part of “one of the most exciting meetings of my life”, before promising to share an announcement soon.

Meanwhile, Shana has some exciting career news of her own, as her new film Love Without Walls won Best UK Feature at both Manchester Film Festival and London Independent Film Festival.

In the romantic music-drama, Shana plays Sophie who struggles alongside aspiring musician Paul (Niall McNamee) due to not being able to afford their London rent.

The couple then lose everything and find themselves living on the streets.

Speaking about the poignant project, Shana told Express.co.uk that fans can expect to experience a rollercoaster of emotions when they go to the cinema to watch the film in June.

She shared: “It’s a real lovely love story, mixed in with some real nitty-gritty storylines and some subjects that sort of hit home really hard, especially at the moment, a lot of it’s really relevant.

“Without spoiling anything, bring your tissues and be ready to get on a bit of a rollercoaster, but it’s definitely it’s a must watch.”

Shana went on to admit that working on the film was an eye-opening experience for her behind-the-scenes.

The actress divulged: “I had this complete picture in my head into what homelessness and rough sleeping was until we did this film, and it really did open my eyes.”

Shana went on to praise the script, which was written by Jane Gull, saying: “Jane’s writing just hits the nail on the head about what’s going on.

“And you know, she touches on the hidden homeless, she touches on the cost of living at the moment, the cashless crisis that we’re having, where nobody can use cash anywhere.

“So the whole film, for me, was just a real eye-opener, and a massive sort of turnaround, because I had no idea that a lot of this was really going down.”

Love Without Walls will be in UK & Irish Cinemas from 9th June.
