SSC GD Constable Exam 2024: SSC GD Constable Exam 2024 for CAPF to be conducted in 13 regional languages – Times of India

NEW DELHI: The Ministry of Home Affairs has passed a decision that will benefit lakhs of students preparing for the General Duty (GD) Constable examination. The candidates for the GD Constable post in Central Reserved Police Forces (CAPFs) can now give the recruitment exam in 13 regional languages, other than Hindi and English. The decision has been taken to increase the participation of local youths in CAPFs and encourage regional languages.
Welcoming the decision, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted, “A pathbreaking decision, which will give wings to the aspirations of our youth! This is a part of our various efforts to ensure language is not seen as a barrier in fulfilling one’s dreams.”

The new changes will be applicable from January 01, 2024. The decision is expected to benefit lakhs of students taking part in the exam. Also, with the facility of regional languages, candidates have a better chance to perform well in the exam.
New Languages introduced for the GD Constable recruitment exam include Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri and Konkani. Apart from these 13 regional languages, Hindi and English will also be there.
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu MK Stalin reached out to the Home Minister Amit Shah to include Tamil as a regional language for the written examination in GD Constable (CAPFs).
