Spanish hotspot named the ‘most desirable city on the planet’ & flights are £13

BRITISH holidaymakers can travel to the “most desirable city on the planet” for less than £15.

Hotel chain Premier Inn researched the world’s best “alternative capitals” and a city in Spain took the top spot.

As reported by the Daily Express, Malaga beat Venice and Brighton to the most desirable city crown.

The city is known for being the birthplace to Pablo Picasso, as well as being the gateway to the Costa del Sol, despite having 16 of its own beaches.

Malaga is consistently one of the cheapest European cities to get to from the UK.

The Sun Online Travel team found direct flights from London Luton to Malaga for £13 per person.

As well as cheap flights, there’s an easyHotel in Malaga City Centre that makes staying there a bargain too.

The bright, cheery rooms with comfy beds start from just £35 a night.

Other “alternative” destinations on the list included Venice, Brighton and Porto.

Meanwhile cities outside of Europe included Perth in Australia and San Francisco in the United States.

Another unusual and affordable European destination that is getting holidaymakers excited is Albania.

The country’s rise in popularity is largely thanks to the army of TikTok and social media influencers who’ve holidayed in the Albania Riviera.

One of the most popular areas is a small village in the south called Ksamil where holidaymakers can find sandy beaches that have been compared to the Maldives.

Despite the country’s comparison to paradise, flights to the country can be snapped up for less than £30.
