Southwest Airlines flights temporarily paused due to “intermittent technology issues”

Southwest Airlines asked the Federal Aviation Administration to ground all of the airline’s departures after they reported “intermittent technology issues” on social media, and nearly 200 of their flights at Denver International Airport have been delayed as of 9:06 a.m.

The Federal Aviation Administration reported the issue was resolved at 9:10 a.m. and the airline’s service has resumed.

Numerous Southwest customers began reporting issues over an hour ago on Twitter, and the airline responded to some tweets citing the technology issues.

One user said they had been sitting on a plane waiting to get off after arriving at their destination, and Southwest’s Twitter account responded by saying in part, “We truly regret the longer than usual wait upon your arrival. Please continue to hang in there w/ us and we’ll pull in ASAP.”

Some people have also reported Southwest’s website and app are down as well.

According to the flight tracking website FlightAware, 194 Southwest flights in or out of Denver International Airport have been delayed, about 36% of their traffic in Denver as of 9:15 a.m.
