Manchester United and Newcastle secured safe passage to the semi finals of the Carabao Cup last night.
The Red Devils cruised past League One Charlton, while Eddie Howe’s side overcame Leicester with two second-half strikes.

Southampton vs Manchester City
On paper, this is a forgone conclusion.
Southampton are struggling to spark under manager Nathan Jones, while Manchester City have shown signs of returning to their brilliant best.
The Saints have lost four successive Premier League games and sit rock-bottom of the division.
They have, however, collected two victories during Jones’ tenure and they’ve both come in domestic cup competitions — although those were against Lincoln and Crystal Palace.
Meanwhile the Citizens have won four of their last five matches in all competitions, including two against Chelsea and one over Liverpool.
They hammered Graham Potter’s side 4-0 on Sunday without the likes of Erling Haaland and Kevin De Bruyne.
But the duo are expected to return to the starting XI for some minutes ahead of Saturday’s Manchester derby at Old Trafford.
