South America Webinar – Paper Packaging, The Natural Choice – Two Sides
The third edition of the free South American webinar “Paper Packaging, the natural choice” brings together international speakers for an insightful session.
The event will address sustainable innovations in paper-based packaging, a fundamental product that is increasingly present in society’s daily lives.
On June 29, Thursday, at 9:30 am (GMT-3), the third edition of the South American webinar “Paper Packaging, The Natural Choice” will be held, jointly organized by Empapel, Ibá and Two Sides. With the theme “Technology and innovation at the service of sustainability”, speakers from Brazil and Europe will talk about the new trends for paper packaging. An essential resource for the industry and the final consumer, paper packaging is gaining more and more interest and incorporating more technology due to the new demands for sustainability.
This year, panels by Jonathan Tame, from the United Kingdom, director of Two Sides UK, are confirmed, who will speak to the public about the Trend Tracker Survey 2023, bringing together the main and most up-to-date trends and preferences of the consumer market in relation to paper and packaging in Europe and the US; and Antônio Cabral, professor at the Mauá Institute of Technology (IMT) and specialist in packaging engineering, who will address how packaging systems can incorporate environmental responsibility from end to end. Mark Newman is a guest speaker, also from the United Kingdom and director of Research & Development at Unilever, and will talk about the global giant’s processes and strategies to insert more sustainability and innovation in paper packaging in its production chain.
“An event like this has a lot to do with extremely important discussions that are currently on the agenda in Brazil and the world. Industry, retailers and consumers, especially the younger ones, seek the sustainable values present in the products they buy. The pulp and paper sector has been offering, through state-of-the-art science and technology, innovative solutions to these demands, from cultivated forests to the consumption of bioproducts derived from them. Paper packaging, which has incorporated many of these novelties, has been highly disseminated in this context. It is, therefore, a valuable opportunity to discuss and learn about the main trends of this versatile and environmentally responsible product”, says Ambassador José Carlos da Fonseca Jr., executive director of Ibá.
The event, which will be broadcast via the Zoom platform, will have simultaneous translation into English and Spanish, as purchasing decision-makers, designers, teachers, students and the general public from all over Latin America are expected. In the 2022 edition, there were around 400 participants who followed the live program. This year’s audience is expected to exceed this number.
