Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh rewears ‘unique’ Coronation dress in Iraq
Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh visited Iraq at the request of the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office in support of the Women, Peace and Security Agenda and spent a couple of days in Baghdad.
For an engagement in the capital, Sophie recycled the polka dot dress she donned at a Buckingham Palace reception during the Coronation weekend.
The day before King Charles’s Coronation, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh joined Kate and William, Prince and Princess of Wales, at a lunch reception for realm prime ministers and governors general.
The royal’s lovely black and white polka dot midi dress, adorned with pink and red roses, is the Christina Floral Dot Dress.

The designer’s website explained that the dress is “an ivory and floral polka dot print produced in silk crepe de chine for a beautifully lightweight feel”.
“Featuring delicate buttons and a frilled high neck, this long-sleeved midi-length printed dress is fitted through to the hips, falling into a straight skirt for a clean elegant finish. A perfect choice for formal events this season,” Beulah London commented.
Sophie’s meeting in Iraq was part of her work to champion the survivors of conflict-related sexual violence.
The Duchess paired the gown with her Sophie Habsburg Cleo clutch bag in burgundy which retails for £337 and nude pumps from Prada.
The elegant clutch bag is a “small hand-painted shoulder, crossbody bag, with a removable chain” and is “perfect to wear as an evening clutch,” the designer explained.
On Instagram, @mydocuments_ commented: “This is very, very pretty. The floral pops on the dress really set it off.”
Another one, @alr2491, opined: “Not my favorite of her looks but I do like that the dress pattern, is unexpected and unique.”
