Sony PlayStation Mobile Division Head Steps Down From Role in Less Than 2 Years
Sony PlayStation Studios’ mobile gaming department has just lost its head VP Nicola Sebastiani. He has reportedly stepped down from the role to pursue a new role somewhere else, which has not yet been revealed. Sony has replaced Sebastiani with Olivier Courtemanche and Kris Davis as co-heads.
Sony PlayStation Studios’ Mobile Gaming Co-Heads
Head of VP Nicola Sebastiani was at Apple for eight years before his role at Sony’s mobile gaming division. He joined the foray in July 2021 and has now left in less than two years. Sony had appointed Sebastiani to grow its mobile gaming department. Sebastiani has reportedly left to pursue “a new, undisclosed opportunity”, as per Mobilegamer.biz (via VGC247). Sebastiani played a big role when Sony acquired Savage Game Studios in August 2022. The studio is currently working on “a new unannounced AAA mobile live service action game” for Sony. However, details and progress of the mobile game are scarce at the moment.

Olivier Courtemanche, the first of the two new co-heads, is a former product manager at Meta. He worked on the Horizon social platform as head of content. Courtemanche was also a director of products during his six years at Zynga before that. The other lead now will be Kris Davis who has been Sony’s head of Mobile BD for over a year. He was previously at Kabam for around eight years. Kabam is the studio behind hit mobile games such as Marvel: Contest of Champions, Star Wars: Uprising and more.
Sony’s mobile gaming division is non-existent so far apart from the remote play feature for its PlayStation consoles. Now with two new co-heads at the helm, it remains to be seen where the mobile gaming division will be heading towards now.
