Son suffers head injury in major Tottenham blow against Marseille
Tottenham star Son Heung-Min has sustained a bad head injury in tonight’s Champions League clash with Marseille. The South Korean international went down after colliding with a defender during the match in France. He was later seen walking down the tunnel but was clearly dazed and in some pain following the collision.
Tottenham are in Champions League action against Marseille tonight hoping to book their place in the knockout stages of the competition.
However, their mission has now become harder after Son was forced out of the showdown after suffering a blow to the head.
Son rose to win a header but collided with Chancel Mbemba, who appeared to catch him with his shoulder.
With Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski, the visitors then decided to change their shape by bringing on Yves Bissouma.
Pat Nevin reacted to the incident while commentating for BBC Radio 5 Live. He said: “Although Son is such an important player I don’t think he should be allowed to carry on playing and they should make a change now I think.”

Speaking before the match in France, Tottenham No 2 Cristian Stellini insisted they’d do everything in their power to go through to the next round.
“We do our jobs to arrive to live moments like this, games like this,” he said.
“It’s massive, it’s important to play this game and to win this type of game.
“It’s a confidence boost if we win this type of game and, for us, very important to do our best.
“If we perform, if we’re focussed, calm and organised, compact, we have the possibility to win.
“It’s not the game just for the mind, you need the legs, the mind, the heart, power, everything, and without Antonio on the touchline, everyone has to give something more.”
And, when quizzed on what he expects, he said: “I expect a tough game with energy in all (areas of) the pitch.
“They try to chase the ball in every moment. It will be this type of game. We have to think quickly, because in this type of game the ball moves quickly, and you have to think before you receive the ball, think before your opponent to understand well the movement and strategy they have.
“In our group stage, every team plays the same system, in a different way.
“Marseille is one of four teams that play with intensity and quality. It’s a team full of talented players like Sanchez, like Guendouzi, also Veretout, they mix energy and quality. It will be a tough game, but we know very well, we study well, and we create a strategy to achieve our target.”
