Snow globes and a pink journal
When traveling abroad, most people take snapshots of interesting things and places that they can look at from time to time. Now that few people have their travel photos printed and laid out in albums, the images only exist online or in their phones.
Actress and working mom Elisse Joson prefers to gaze at her collection of snow globes that are mementos of past foreign trips.
“I buy snow globes every time I travel to a new place, so I can take a piece of that place with me when I come home,” Elisse said.
The actress, who started out in the entertainment industry when she was 16, has appeared in a number of movies and teleserye. In 2017, the year she became a housemate in “Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky Season 7,” was also the year she appeared in an ad for a fast-food chain that went viral for its “hugot” appeal. This time around, Elisse was chosen as the endorser of Miutiso, a fast-rising provider of assorted household essentials and organizers.
A self-avowed “OC multitasker” (obsessive-compulsive disorder), she said it’s her “duty to keep everything in her home beautiful” and in their place.
“I keep my snow globe collection in a special cabinet in front of my bed so I can see it from afar,” she said.
Off-duty look
For her part, model and beauty queen Maureen Wroblewitz is known for winning the fifth season of “Asia’s Next Top Model,” where she became the first Filipina to bag the top prize. She was also a runner-up at Miss Universe Philippines 2021.
What’s not common knowledge is how she has found a way to deal with everyday stress.
“My favorite thing is my little journal that I take with me wherever I go. Being an overthinker, it’s been really helpful to write down my thoughts when I get overwhelmed. The journal is cute, pink and has a pocket on the front. Purple is actually my favorite color, and that’s why I love the details as well.”
When she’s MOD (model off-duty), Maureen reaches for her other favorite thing. “My Levi’s 501s bring out my most genuine self. I have always loved going for denim since it’s easy to style and wear. I am myself when I wear my Levi’s.” INQ
