Smart India Hackathon-2022 grand finale from Aug 25 – Times of India

Mangaluru: Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management will host the fifth edition of the national-level software edition grand finale of Smart India Hackathon (SIH) from August 25.
According to the organisers, it is a 36-hour hackathon and the college has been selected as a nodal centre from among 75 colleges across India. “A total of 25 teams from across India will participate and provide the solution to problem statements listed by the ministry of rural development, Government of India, in the areas of agriculture, food tech, and rural development. A total of nine problems have been listed out for the hackathon,” said Manjappa Sarathy, director of research and consultancy, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management. He was addressing reporters on Tuesday to give out the event details.
SIH-2022 is being organised as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav celebrations by the ministry of education’s Innovation Cell and the All-India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. About 200 students, consisting of 25 teams, from various colleges are participating in the grand finale. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to interact with the participants on August 25.
SIH is a nationwide initiative to provide students with a platform to solve pressing problems of the government, ministries, departments, industries, and other organisations. SIH has been acclaimed as the world’s biggest open innovation model and it inculcates the culture of product innovation and problem-solving among students.
