Sky TV owners are just noticing hidden button that instantly improves your telly

SKY recently launched a huge update and you may have missed a great visual quality boost that came with it.

At the end of last year, the firm rolled out a major upgrade to Sky Glass which included a load of new features.

So-called local dimming is one of them.

This basically makes black areas on screen much deeper and the white bits look even brighter on your Sky TV.

But you’ll need to switch it on with Vivid mode.

Vivid mode can be found by clicking button with three dots on it.

Head to Viewing Mode and from there choose Vivid.

Or, you can press the Home button and scroll down to Settings.

Either way, you should instantly notice an improvement to your TV’s picture quality.

There are several alternative modes available too.

These include Auto, Sports, Movies, Music, Entertainment and Custom.

It’s also possible to enhance speech as well.

This is ideal if you’re struggling to hear what people are saying.

It’ll make dialogue much clearer.

To turn it on, press the three dot button and select Enhance speech.

Or, press the Home button and head to Settings.

From there, choose Picture & sound, then Sound.
