Skint dad shares 10 tips for saving money in time for Christmas
Research by Tesco has found that almost one in five (17 percent) of people are feeling more financial pressure this Christmas compared to previous years. To help the nation spend less, Tesco has partnered with money-saving gurus Ricky and Naomi Willis – who blog under the name Skint Dad – and have asked them to share their seasonal savings tips.
With Christmas just two pay packets away, many Britons will be looking for money saving tips leading up to the festive season.
Although people are really feeling the pinch this year, there are some key things they can do now to make savings and ensure this Christmas is as enjoyable as any other.
Skint Dad, a money-saving blog with more than 18,000 followers on Twitter, is run by savvy parents Ricky and Naomi Willis who have shared 10 of their best money-saving tips.
To get the most from money, the couple say it’s really important to budget now as it can make all the difference.

The most important thing people can do now is set a budget as this will help them focus on what they can afford and where to spend their money.
Ricky explained: “Before you do anything, you need to determine what you can afford rather than what you’d like to spend.
“Thinking about this a couple of pay days ahead can give you a bit of extra buffer as you can use clever ways to save and shop smart to give yourself a little more in your budget.
“Planning what you need to buy means you don’t miss anything and have a last-minute panic.”
