What can £325,000 get you in the UK property landscape?

A ‘skinny’ seven-feet-wide house in Bristol, apparently.

The one-bed town house – that’s split over three floors – is currently up for sale.

At its narrowest point, the home – located in The Old Brewery, in Stokes Croft – measures 7 ft 11inches at the front, before widening to 11ft 5inches at the rear.

On the first floor you’ll find a kitchen and lounge space – with the TV just inches from the sofa.

Whereas the top floor includes the bedroom with a vaulted ceiling with Velux window and a newly-fitted bathroom, as well as a balcony offering views over Bristol.

There’s also a small cellar but it’s worth pointing out that there isn’t much room to stand down there.

If you’re worried about storage in this narrow home, the property widens towards the back – which creates a living room with an open staircase and recessed shelving.

Other notable features in this ‘skinny’ period property include exposed brickwork, a modern kitchen with integrated appliances (also handy for more space), oak flooring and slate bathroom tiling.

However, it seems from the floorplan and dimensions of the house, it’s priced higher than others in the area.

The average house price in Bristol last year was £397,430 – but this home is considerably smaller than average, coming in with a snug 567 square footage.

The listing for the property, from estate agents Maggs & Allen, reads: ‘A truly unique one-bedroom town house arranged over three floors of this quirky period building.

‘The house has been tastefully refurbished to a high standard to provide a highly individual home, conveniently located for access to the city centre and a wide range of bars, cafes and restaurants in Stokes Croft.’
