Skin saver Frank’s Remedies opens in WHSmith’s airport stores

Known for its gentle, vegan solutions for those struggling with stressed and damaged skin, the full range will be available to travellers.

“It’s a dream partnership that will help remedy the concerns of many when flying which can trigger dehydrated, irritated and breakout-prone skin,” says Kyle Frank who founded the business three years ago with the help of youth charity The Prince’s Trust and its Enterprise programme.

Frank’s Remedies’ sales have increased almost 46 per cent over the past year and the business is forecasting a £550,000 turnover in 2025.

Now buoyed by the “huge step forward” he is looking to raise £250,000 to support the fast growth.

“Ideally an angel investor with skin care and distribution industry experience,” adds Frank who is moving temporarily to the US in September to capitalise on strong direct-to-consumer demand there and build links with retailers.

It was his own difficult experience with acne that led him to reject harsh chemical treatments and scour the world for plant-based ingredients that had more potency when grown naturally.

From that he created the formulations in classic kitchen table fashion that “work with skin, not attack it”.

Frank’s client base is much wider than he first envisaged, spanning pre-teens to 55-year-olds, and he expects the alcohol-free Antibacterial Facial spritz (£16) to do especially well with passengers.

The firm’s Glow Up wellness programme for secondary schools, which has helped more than 300 young people with body image concerns, will also start again in September.
