After playing nine out of the Sixers’ first ten games, Embiid has missed the 76ers past nine after being placed in the league’s health and safety protocols on November 8. Philadelphia is just 3-7 in their past ten games and has slumped to ninth in the Eastern Conference. They lost their first five games without their All-Star center.

The Athetic’s Shams Charania tweeted this week that Embiid was “ramping up” his conditioning this week in preparation for a comeback. Embiid will likely need some time to get back into game shape, but his return will boost the team as they look to get back to the top half of the Eastern Conference.
Philadelphia had been hit hard with Covid, with Tobias Harris, Matisse Thybulle, and Isaiah Joe all entering health and safety protocols so far this season.
Embiid has averaged 21.4 points and 9.6 rebounds in nine games prior to entering the Covid protocols.
Harris will also return to the Sixers lineup against Minnesota after missing the last two games with left hip soreness.
