Simon Rimmer ‘really enjoys’ working without Sunday Brunch co-star Tim Lovejoy
The famous duo have also co-authored the books: Lazy Brunch, The Sunday Brunch Cookbook and Something for the Weekend.
Now, Simon has embarked on his own project and launched his podcast, Grilling.
Simon interviews a variety of celebrity chefs to discuss their passion for cooking, sharing recipes and detailing how they made it big in the industry.
The 60-year-old said: “It’s easy to do it on your own. You know, because you dictate the interview.
“[The podcast] is a long-form interview which is very different. I think that would be harder to do with somebody else because you want it to be a conversation.
“It’s quite nice to be able to guide that. It’s different.
“You know, I enjoy interviewing with Tim, we have a different approach to the questions we ask. But certainly, on your own and a long-form one is great. I do really, really enjoy it. Especially when it’s chefs.”
While Simon and Tim are the best of friends, Simon previously admitted that they do fall out sometimes over on-air mistakes.
Speaking to the Hairy Bikers on their Heart and Sole podcast in 2021, Simon said: “We don’t take each other seriously, but we take what we do seriously.”
Dave Myers then asked whether the pair had fallen out after TV blunders. The chef then replied: “Jesus, yeah of course you do.
“But the thing is, in the 15 years we’ve worked together, we’ve never had a serious falling out.”
