‘Sick of hearing no’ Kelvin Fletcher talks tough time being turned down for 10 roles

Former Strictly Come Dancing winner Kelvin Fletcher has revealed that he’s “struggling to find work” after claiming to have been turned down for 10 roles. The former Emmerdale actor, 37, candidly addressed the struggles he faces finding work in the acting industry while adding that he’s “sick” of hearing the word “no” following auditions.

Speaking in an Instagram Live, the star told his 371,000 followers that he and his fellow actors are struggling to secure work.

Kelvin said: “A friend of mine, an actress, just messaged me and said, ‘I can’t even get a f***ing self-tape.'”

“So I know how frustrating those little selfies are, because I’ve been that person thinking, ‘Even they are working now'”.

The Emmerdale star, who played Andy Sugden, revealed that he’d recently been turned down for multiple roles.

“Let me tell you, I’ve had about 10 nos in these last few months,” Kelvin confessed.

However, he went on to urge his followers not to give up despite being rejected multiple times himself.

Earlier this year it was announced that Kevin is set to star alongside Sheridan Smith in the new Channel 5 drama, Teacher.

The four-part drama tells the story of a teacher (Smith) being accused of a drunken sexual encounter with a pupil.

He acknowledged that he’s likely to face more rejection in the future, despite being “sick” of hearing the word “no”.

“For all those out there who, like me, are sick of hearing the nos, I’m sure I’m going to get a lot more nos after this one,” he added.

Kelvin explained: “But I’m enjoying this while it is.

“Thus, the obligatory trailer selfie,” he said while posting a snap on set.
