We know 2023 hasn’t exactly been the hottest year thus far. In fact, the sun has made fewer appearances than Rihanna in the music studio (seriously Riri, drop a new album).

But the British summertime can be sweltering and there’s only so much a paper fan and an ice lolly can do.

It’s not just hot weather that can cause a hot flash. If you’re going through menopause, you’ll be familiar with the dreaded sweats. You may even experience them on your periods and people can suffer through them when pregnant. Joy.

But there’s a new cream that has been hailed as a ‘life saver’ for anyone enduring the sweats. The Balmonds Cooling Cream has received amazing reviews and can apparently keep you as cool as a cucumber.

Which is just as well. Last summer we actually stuffed a pack of frozen peas in our pillow in a panicked effort to keep cool. It worked a treat until they defrosted and we woke up in a sea of mushy green.

The blend of hemp seed oil and shea butter in the Balmonds cream really works to nourish the skin, whilst the menthol and aloe help to cool things down.

One customer claimed it had been such a help during her menopausal night sweats. Another satisfied buyer said it was their ‘summer savior’.

They added: ‘I would highly recommend it to anyone who overheats or even has hot flushing skin its a game changer my skin reacted so well to this.”

In fact, so many customers said this product was brilliant at calming down their skin after a day in the sun. And if you’re always accidentally toasting your shoulders after a day in the park (just us?) you’ll know how welcome a cooling sensation to the skin can be.

One boujee babe even said how cooling the cream had been after a visit to their sauna.

It’s not just the cooling effect that has impressed customers. We love a multi-beneficial bae and the Balmonds Cooling Cream has also been said to improve skin conditions like psoriasis or eczema.

One customer said: ‘Having had a bad eczema flare up, which was leaving my skin dry and feeling hot and prickly (especially overnight), this cream was incredible! After over two weeks of disrupted sleep due to my eczema, this cream worked almost instantly and cooled and relieved any itchiness.’

And customers have even claimed this cream works a treat as a primer.

‘It goes on smoothly and is great under makeup and it costs 1/3 of my original cream,’ one customer claimed.

One user did warn that if you have broken skin, it may cause more irritation, as they wrote: ‘This cream is a good product in itself but I don’t think it’s what I needed as my skin is still raw at the moment therefore it’s application resulted in a burning sensation. It would be a good moisturizer to sooth itchy skin that is not broken.’

The Cooling Cream is free from parabens, fragrance and all the other nasties that can irritate your skin. Plus, it’s vegan, and other products in the range are designed to target problem areas – such as the scalp oil.

So many plusses.

It’s available here for £19.
